Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Motorix ("we", "our", "the App") is a vehicle management application. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws.

2. Data We Collect

• Account data — Email, first name, last name, optional profile photo (when you sign up).
• Vehicle data — Make, model, VIN, license plate, mileage, color, nickname.
• Document data — Insurance (RCA), inspection (ITP), road tax (rovinieta), CASCO details, including dates and amounts.
• Service & fuel data — Service records, fuel entries, costs, kilometers.
• Messaging data — Text messages exchanged through the in-app messaging feature, conversation timestamps, recipient license plate.
• Reports & moderation data — Reports you submit about other users (reason, conversation excerpt) and the list of users you blocked.
• Device tokens — Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and Apple Push Notification (APNs) tokens for push notifications.
• Technical data — Crash logs, basic device information (OS version, app version, device model), advertising identifiers (only if you do not opt out via system settings).

4. Data Storage & International Transfers

Your data is stored locally on your device (encrypted at rest by the OS) and synced to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage) hosted in the europe-west3 (Frankfurt, Germany) region. Diagnostic data and FCM tokens may be processed by Google on servers located outside the EU; in such cases Google relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework as the transfer mechanism.

5. Third-Party Services (Processors)

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging) — backend, sync, push notifications. Firebase privacy.
• Google AdMob — serves advertisements in the free tier of the App; may collect advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android). AdMob policy. On iOS, AdMob is governed by App Tracking Transparency; we do not request tracking permission and AdMob runs in non-personalized mode by default.
• Google Gemini API — optional document scanner that extracts text from images you upload (insurance, registration, etc.). Images are sent to Google Gemini, processed for OCR and not stored after the response is returned. Gemini terms.
• Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, Facebook Login — optional federated authentication providers. We only receive your basic profile (name, email, profile photo).
• Apple App Store / Google Play Billing — process in-app purchases. We receive a purchase token, not your payment details.

6. Advertising & Tracking

The free version of Motorix displays banner and interstitial advertisements through Google AdMob. By default, ads are served in non-personalized mode and we do not request iOS App Tracking Transparency consent. If you purchase "Remove Ads", no advertisements and no advertising identifiers are processed. We do not use any third-party analytics SDK to track behavioral data inside the App.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share your data only:

• With the processors listed in Section 5 (strictly to provide the service);
• With users you explicitly invite through the vehicle-sharing feature;
• With users you exchange messages with (only the message content and your visible license plate);
• With authorities, when required by law, court order or to protect the safety of our users.

8. Data Retention

• Account & vehicle data — kept as long as your account is active.
• Messaging history — kept as long as the conversation exists in your inbox; deleted with your account.
• Reports submitted against other users — kept for up to 24 months for safety and audit reasons, then anonymized.
• Crash logs & diagnostic data — kept for up to 90 days.
• Account deletion — when you delete your account, all your personal data is permanently erased within 30 days, except where we are required by law to keep it longer.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including transport encryption (TLS 1.2+), encrypted local storage, Firestore security rules that restrict access to authenticated users, server-side enforcement of access control in Cloud Functions, regular dependency updates and least-privilege service accounts. No system is 100% secure; you are responsible for keeping your device and credentials safe.

10. Children's Privacy

Motorix is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete the data immediately.

11. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the following rights:

• Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• Right to rectification — correct inaccurate data;
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data;
• Right to restrict processing;
• Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format;
• Right to object to processing based on legitimate interest, including profiling for advertising;
• Right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing;
• Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for users in Romania, this is the ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro).

12. Account Deletion

You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time:

1. Open the Motorix app and go to Settings.
2. Tap Delete Account.
3. Confirm the deletion. Your account and all associated data (vehicles, fuel entries, maintenance records, messages, reports) will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Alternatively, email alexandru.arhire@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account" from the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be notified inside the App. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
